Centre of Excellence in Pharmaceutical Chemistry
Center is dedicated to chemical synthesis of drugs, their characterization, and application in treatment of various deceases. Center also conduct research studies in the extraction of drugs from natural sources, develop various formulations, and their application in the treatment of various deceases including cancer, diabetics, high blood pressure, neurological disorders, autoimmune conditions etc. Â
Prime objective of the center is -
- To perform research and development (R & D) work at the forefront of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology and to become a leading centre in the field
- To apply Indian traditional medical knowledge (i.e. Ayurveda) in developing modern medicines
- To train students for performing cutting edge research and development
- To arrange conferences / workshops related to the pharmaceutical chemistry and technology
- To collaborate with other centres/laboratories in the thematic area at the National and International level
Members
He is a recipient of G. B. Singh Gold Medal Award & Husseni Daginwala Gold Medal Award for first merit at M. Pharm from Nagpur University. He has 25 years of Professional experience and has more than 125 research papers, 6 books and 12 monograms in reference book and 20 Published patents to his credit
He is actively associated with various professional bodies. Presently he is Vice-President, APTI (National), Chairman BOS, Pharm. D. SPPU, Nominated by his Excellency Governer of Maharashtra as Member of Academic Council SPPU, Member Research and Recognition committee SPPU and Nanded University, Member BOS @ Amravati University, KLE University, BAMU Aurangabad, DIPSRU New Delhi, MIT world Peace University, PA Inamdar University.
He is a recipient of ‘Best Principal Award 2018’ by oriental university, Indore and ‘Best Principal Award 2019’ by Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune and ‘IPER Best Principal Award 2020’ at National level by Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India.
Dr. Sohan Chitlange

Dr. Madhuri is currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Quality Assurance Techniques (Q.A.T.). She holds a Master’s degree and a Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Pharmaceutical Chemistry bringing over 13 years of academic and research experience to the field of pharmaceutical sciences. She has successfully guided 24 postgraduate students and one Ph.D. scholar, fostering innovation and scientific inquiry among her mentees. In addition to her teaching and research responsibilities, she has actively contributed to academic administration, serving as Academic Monitor for M. Pharm, and has been a member of the Examination Section and Research and development committee.
Dr. Madhuri has an impressive research portfolio, having published 20 research papers in reputed journals, presented 4 papers at conferences, filed 2 patents. Her academic excellence and research contributions have been recognized through several prestigious awards, including the IASTAM Baidyanath Award (2019) for Best Validation/Clinical Research of Classical Product, and the RULA Award (2019) for Best Scientist in Natural Product Research. She also received the Best Presentation Award at the University-level research competition Avishkar 2010 and secured a ₹3 lakh grant under the ASPIRE Research Mentorship Scheme of SPPU.
Dr. Madhuri Uttam Shelar - Chondhe

Dr. Ganesh is a distinguished academician and researcher in Pharmaceutical Sciences. He earned his B. Pharm. (2008) from Pravara Rural College of Pharmacy, Pune University, M. Pharm. (2010) from Acharya & B. M. Reddy College of Pharmacy, RGUHS Bengaluru, and Ph.D. (2019) from RGUHS, Bengaluru. He also holds a Professional Diploma in Clinical Research and has completed certified courses in Educational Methodology (RGUHS), Leadership and Team Effectiveness (IIT Roorkee), and Nurture Future Leadership Program (IIT Bombay). Presently, he serves as Professor and Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at School of Pharmacy, AUP and is a recognized PG and Ph.D. guide.
With over 40 research publications, 2 patent applications, and grants from ICMR, RGUHS, Micro Labs, and SPPU, Dr. Andhale’s research interests include prodrug and codrug design, computer-aided drug design, synthesis of pharmacologically active molecules, and analytical method of development. He has guided 18 M. Pharm. and 2 Ph.D. scholars, served as a reviewer and editorial team member for reputed journals, and acted as a resource person for RGUHS’s Educational Methodology course. He has received multiple honors, including the Distinguished Alumni Award (2018), Best Pharmacist of the Year (2021), All-rounder Faculty (2021-22), Best HoD (2022-23), and Best Teacher (2023-24). A life member of IPA, APTI, and ISTE, he has also held leadership roles in IPA’s Karnataka and Pune branches, contributing significantly to academia, research, and professional organizations.

Dr. Ganesh S. Andhale
School of Pharmacy
Dr. Vaishali is currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Quality Assurance Techniques (Q. A. T.), School of Pharmacy. She holds a Master’s degree and a Doctorate (Ph. D.) in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from SPPU, Pune. She has more than 12 years of academic and research experience in the field of pharmaceutical sciences. She has guided 12 postgraduate students and more than 40 graduate students for their research projects, various research competition.
Dr. Vaishali has 24 research papers, 4 book chapters, and 6 patent applications to her credit apart from several paper presentations in conferences. She also received the Certificate of Mentor in State Inter-University Research Competition for PG level at AVISHKAR 2023 and 2024. She is a regular reviewer for Critical Reviews in Analytical Chemistry, Taylor & Francis. She is also working as an Editor for Journal of Drug Design and Medicinal Chemistry from 27th August 2024.
Dr. Vaishali N. Pardeshi

Dr. Padma is currently working as HOD in the Department of Applied Science at Alard School of Engineering & Technology. She completed her Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University (SGBAU), Maharashtra. She has published over 12 research papers in National and International journals and has guided several student projects.
Dr. Padma S. Zade

Dr. Prakash is working as Professor and Director (R & D) at AUP. He is enlisted in Top 2 % Scientist in the World in the area of Applied Physics as per Stanford University USA and Elsevier evaluation (from 2020 to 2025). He has taught the course of Nanobiotechnology to M. Tech. (Nanotechnology) students.
His current research interests related to the centers theme are – using Ayurveda knowledge to develop modern medicines or Ayurvedic drugs, targeted drug delivery, nano-bio-materials, chronic diseases and conditions, genetics, parasitology, and personalized medicine.
